slumber, stir, slither, swim
Once again there was a rapping at my bedroom door. I climbed out of bed and hurriedly dressed in my finest apparel which comprised of dirty jeans and a shirt. David lay seemingly undisturbed with his favorite blanket. Who was the agitator of our peaceful pool of thought? What was the reason for our awakening at such a rapid pace? Awake my sword, fly swift my sleepy arrow! For we are called to meet the speed of a new day. We are called to the race of a new day.
As I opened the door just a crack, I peered out into the unknown only to find Lacy. Once again she was the one to shatter the stillness of our lion's den. Do not misinterpret me. Beholden is our lot in this act. When sluggish is the ear to mind the toll, a damsel's rapping could wake the mind of a lifeless dolt.
Oh what a beautiful day to be woken to! A spring of water ran hot and clear down to the dead sea. As we hiked up the gorge, every twist and turn revealed a new pool. We trudged on till there was no way to proceed but through the water, but we continued even up to our shoulders. At the beginning of the canyon trash showed the amount of people that visited the spot daily. But as we pressed on, it dwindled down to nothing. Not a soul to speak of.
Our journey took us through the paths of water falls and like fish we scaled their raging torrents. Around the bend, a waterfall likened to those in the rocky mountains. Those relatives of this water fall that are so cold you can only observe their majesty. But the water was as blistering as a hot tub. At ten meters high, the water plummeted into a pool three meters deep. We swam where only the birds could hear our joyous din.
Ode to the God that created such majesty and fashioned such dignified but benevolent grandeur!
